William Johnson portrait
This painting by West has some interesting detail going on in the background. Two light infantry types with GR on their caps stand in front of a log and earth structure - in front of which stands redcoat and native warriors. This painting was executed in 1764. See the whole picture and a very interesting comment on the fact that the picture may represent the Siege of Niagara.
